Nail Picks: Spring Nails

3 Apr 2014

So spring is definitley here and it's time to switch up those go to nail colours; swapping those dark wintery reds for a pop of colour and so pastels.

Maybelline Forever Strong #240 "Lilac Charm": This was my go to nail varnish for all of last year as the colour is perfect! I've got to say though it can be fairly hard to work with because of how sturdy it is; I don't know if this is because of the length of time I've had it for and it's drying up or it is just the formula. Either way I still love it and by adding the tiniest drop of nail varnish remover its alot easier to apply. Sadly, this doesn't seem to appear in shop shelves anymore so if you know of any where that sells this please let me know as I really need a new one!

Barry M Gelly Shine "Sugar Apple": This is one of Barry M's new editions to this collection and I love it! People say it's very similar to Essie's Mint Candy Apply but I can't compare as I don't own that nail varnish but what I can say it's a colour that isn't around enough and is the perfect shade for spring! Like all the Gelly Shine nail paints, it's an amazing formula and doesn't really need two coats unless your like me and the whole nail has to be perfectly equal in colour.

Models Own "Lemon Meringue": This, for me is the perfect pastel yellow and it perfect for this time of year. Like most other models own nail varnish, the colour is full opaque within two coats which I think is great for just two coats. The smell of Models Own nail varnishes always overwhelm my room but who cares when they're as good as this!

Barry M Gelly Shine "Papya": I don't own enough orange/pink nail varnishes and hopefully this is the start of something! This colour caught my eye the other week and I had to pick it up and it's another perfect shade for spring. I'm sorry there's two Gelly Shine nail paints in this post but they are probably my favourite ail varnish formula that I know of!

Sinful Colors #300 "Easy Going": You can't go wrong with the £2 it cost to by this nail varnish. People have compared it to Essie's Fiji so it's absolute steal at the price it is! Sinful Colous are fine with one coat however, with being a light colour, it does take two for me. It also drys surprisingly quickly for a polish that doesn't claim to.

So I hope you enjoyed this second spring related post; there's just one more!
What are your favourite spring nail varnishes?
