A Body Shop Haul & First Impressions

17 Jan 2015

When Body Shop has an offer, it's a hella' good offer and with 35% off everything and free delivery for purchases over £20 how could I not treat myself! I have bought a lot from body shop in the past, mainly there shower bits, but it's been a while since I've purchased a lot of new bits and with the New Year's goal to sought my skin out I thought I would venture into there skincare ranges. I already had an idea of what I wanted but I took their skin test as well which also proved helpful.
The first thing I bought was the Tea Tree Oil. I have used a lot of different blemish treatments in the past and I remember when I first started getting spots, tea tree oils worked well and so I thought I'd try this Body Shop offering. I think it's an expensive 10ml of product but I know this will last me forever.
Another Tea Tree product I picked up was the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion. I've used something similar to this this from Clean & Clear and loved it but I thought I would give this a go as well.Online, it also said that it hydrates so I thought that was an added bonus as blemish skin products in the past have just dried my skin out. With both these tea tree products, I think it will take sometime before I see results but I'm going to carry on using them in my skincare routine to see if there isn't a difference. I will say though, that since buying these, I haven't had another breakout so it must be working at least a little already.
I have been using a day cream from Olay (a blog post coming soon!) morning and night and while I don't see much of a problem with this as it hasn't caused me any problems, it's £10 a pot. I only bought it before Christmas and it's already nearly run out. Even though, the Blemish Night Lotion is for night and does say it hydrates, I wasn't convinced it will hydrate my skin as much as it needs too so I picked up the Aloe Soothing Night Cream. This product is for sensitive skin and while my skin isn't the most sensitive, I don't like having a heavily perfumed night cream. This was only £2.50 and, in other circumstances I would complain about the size but, at that price, I really can't! The few nights I've used it, I've needed only a small amount and while it does leave my skin very shiny, I don't find it greasy and it gives my skin enough hydration to last me through until the next morning when I apply my moisturiser.
This next product was the talk of all bloggers back last year and as always I was late on the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil band wagon. While I had read reviews, I didn't really know what to expect from this but I was excited to try something new to take off my make up. When I first used it and pumped some product into my hand I didn't have high hopes because of how greasy it feels which I didn't really like but once I applied it to my face, I could tell it was getting all my make up off and after patting my face dry, my skin felt the smoothest it had felt in a while and I didn't even feel the need for cleanser. Having said that, I did cleanse any way but I felt it really help moisturise my skin a little more. While I know there will be days I just want to use my Garnier Micellar water, I really think I'm going to love using this!
The last thing I picked up was something I've been meaning to get in a while and while it isn't the most exciting purchase of them all, it's one I'll know I'll use every time I shower and it's the Body Polisher. It's a long piece of material that helps exfoliate and smooth skin and it's great for exfoliating and cleaning those bits of my back I just can't reach without injuring myself in the shower. I've used this only once but I know it's going to be a great extra to my shower routine.

So that's all! Body Shop offers are always great and there's always some kind of sale on so definitely keep an eye out!
Let me know whether you'd like to see more hauls!
Hope you're doing great,
